(How long does it take you to make and setup such a scene? I really need to start doing this, architecture and perspective and stuff is a pain to do with grids and all and I hope this could help.)
The unhelpful answer is "it depends". I built Laketown over the course of a couple of days whilst on holiday. This Inn one was an hour or so. I have a little medieval village which is ever growing. The East Gate of Moria I built in 20 mins, since it has almost zero detail - just place holder planes that allowed me to zoom a camera around and pick the shot I liked best.
I have a fairly streamlined process in Sketchup now, once I got a grip on what I need the models to be and to do. There's a difference between a useful model and a pretty one if that makes sense.
Can I have the model, please? :)
