The character sketched here is Bigby Wolf from the Fables series(Vertigo) - reformed from his fairytale days as the Big Bad Wolf and now working as a P.I. in Fabletown.
Just recently got into the this series, had heard good things about it for a while but something about the premise kept me away - my loss. Have really enjoyed it and now have loads of trades to catch up on. It's basically the story of all the kiddie fairytale characters unwillingly relocated into the 'real world'. I believe the big screen version is in casting, so well worth a look if you haven't already and are in the mood for something a bit different.
