Another sketch from Lille. This is my favourite Captain Britain costume. The original and best red version. Not the easiest to draw from memory (thanks to Lionel for supplying me with a copy of a French Marvel Comics Presents) Wonderful stuff from John Byrne and the Arcade character.
Nice one, Gary. I know a lot of people don't rate the original costume, but as much as i loved Alan Davis's first two revamped versions - not so keen on the multitude of costumes since (some were really horrific) i have always had a nostalgic love for this version too (espescially when drawn by Buscema or Byrne). Captain Britain weekly was my first regular comic as a kid and what really got me hooked into comics and into the Marvel universe specifically. Could never draw that bloody lion without checking out reference though.
