Full page Black and white

Working on some fun full page illos right now, and the first one is off the production line, showing one of the main characters in a street scuffle with some thugs. Enjoying this one, and doing some detailed greyscale pieces after a long run on colour work.

Trying to watch my tonal range in this, and if I'm being critical, I might say I need a little more contrast, with too many middle tone greys at work? Anyhow, enjoy!

  1. Beautiful rendering Andy.
Yeah maybe the guy in the forground needs to be cast almost completely into shadow and the rooftops dropped back in value- especially those behind the girl as she is getting a bit lost. Also would like to see here putting more weight into the laundry and pulling down on the line- it might give more angles and even more tension to the piece... just my thoughts.
Anyway I love the narrative here- why do the words shennanigans and hanky-panky come to mind?
